    Kanchenjunga region trekking awards you spectacular view of the third highest mountain of the world, the Mt. Kanchenjunga at the altitude of 8,586m. Trekking in Kanchenjunga region takes you to the soulful journey of majestic villages, diverse flora and fauna topped with the soulful hospitality of the native people.

    Kanchenjunga region comes under Kanchenjunga Conservation Area (1998) preserving all the authenticity that this region offers. This conservation area covers the staggering area of 2035 sq.km. The conservation area is the tri-national peace park with Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north and Sikkim, India at the east.

    Trek to this pristine land covers both the base camp, one in the north and other in the south direction. In this amazing journey, you will set your foot into the deep and remote mountain ranges, fascinating landscapes, enthralling lushes, a deep tropical forest full of blooming rhododendrons, orchids, oaks, pines and chestnuts and of course the meadows with grazing yaks.  Furthermore, Kanchenjunga is the land of Snow Leopards and Red Panda. Other animals you may encounter are Himalayan Black Bear, Assamese Macaque, etc.

    Kanchenjunga region is popular as Five Treasure of Snow. In fact, at the beginning of your journey, you will be rendered the mesmerizing view of Tent Peak, Cross Peak, and Kanchenjunga Base Camp. Moreover, In the eastern region, there lay the marvelous glacial streams, flowing through the high ridges, making steep valleys.

    Besides the almighty Mt. Kanchenjunga, you will be observing mountains like Yalung Kang (8,505m). Of some twenty peaks exceeding 7,000m, the highest are Kambachen (7,903m), Jannu (7,710m), Jongsong (7,483m), Kabru (7,353m), Tent Peak (7,365m) and the Twins (7,350m).

    To give you that extra pleasure, the area has 23 species of Rhododendron with the 250 species of birds and exotic and endangered animals. Trekking in this region does not need special expedition skills, but you have to physically fit in order to successful ascend. The region has less number of accommodation facilities, so, it is always good to carry the tents and other material required throughout the trekking.

    The rugged trails, different high passes, scattered human habitat, and monsoon downpours make the trekking in this region challenging and adventurous.  Over 1000 species of flowering plants have been seen in the area. The smiling and humble people are just about everywhere. You can even be offered the local alcohol made from millet. Tongba.
