    Trekking Trail

    This captivating trekking trail starts from Sundarijal, hour drive from Kathmandu city area. From Sundarijal, you will be doing one hour walk to Shivapuri National Park. Then your trekking trail will take you to the amazing villages and places like Chisapani, Kutumsang, Tha depati and Sermanthang, ending the trek ultimately at Melamchi Pul Bazaar of Helambu region. You will be observing the stunning rice terraces. Other major attraction of the trekking is the sweet climatic condition for apples. The region is resided by Sherpa and Tamang community , giving you peculiar chance to dot the Buddhist culture.

    Helambu Cultural Trekking altitude varies 1370m to 3490m. There are enough lodges, hotels and camps to provide you that much needed relaxation after the tiring trekking. As there is enough resting place along the trekking trail, it is good to pack easy and light.

    1. Day 1 Arrival at Kathmandu

      Upon your arrival, Duke Nepal representative will greet and welcome you and transfer you to Hotel. The rest time is free for your refreshment. In the evening time, you can roam around mini touristic capital of Nepal, the Thamel. Overnight at Kathmandu.

    2. Day 2 Drive to Sundarijal and Trek to Chisapani(2,300m)

      Today is the official day of the trek. You will drive 1 hour, 15 Kilometers North East from Kathmandu to Sundarijal. Then you will start our trek to Chisapani. The trail will take you to amazing villages, pristine forest into Shivapuri National Park. The top ridge of Shivapuri Park will award the spectacular view of Kathmandu city. Then you will ascend from Shivapuri National Park taking you to ultimate Chispani. Chisapani village renders some of the best panoramic view of snowcapped Langtang, Ganesh, Jugal, Annapurna, Manaslu & Gaurishakar. Chispani lies on route to Langtang and Helambu. Overnight at Chisapani.

      Trekking Time-4-5 Hours

    3. Day 3 Trek to Kutumsang(2,446m)

      Today is longer trekking day. From Chisapani, the route descends to Pati Bhanjuang, village with major population of Hindus. Then from Pati Bhanjyang, you will trek more downhill reaching another amazing village of Chipplin. From Chipplin, the trekking is uphill, where you will set your foot through Thodog Lama Lodge and to Kutumsang village. Overnight at Kutumsang.

      Trekking Time-6-7 Hours

    4. Day 4 Trek to Tharepati(3,650m)

      You will be starting early morning trek to Yurin Danda from Kutumsang village and will be reaching Yurin Danda crossing a pass at altitude of 3,510m. Then the descend trekking starts to Tharepati taking you to amazing rhododendron forests. Tharepati is the highest point of the trek offering soul satisfying view of rolling landscapes, and pinnacle mountains of Langtang and Jugal. Overnight at Tharepati

      Trekking Time-5-6 Hours

    5. Day 5 Trek to Melamchi Gaun(2,560m)

      From Tharepati, the trekking trail climbs to ridge top rendering some of the best view of Jugal Himal. From ridge, you will be climbing downhill until reaching Melamchi Khola. After crossing Melamchi Khola bridge, and doing short climb, you will be reaching Melamchi Gaun. Melamchi Gaun is traditional village populated by Sherpas and Yolmos. Buddhist culture, Tamang tribal houses with amazing carving and art is what you will be experiencing in Melamchi Gaun. Overnight at Melamchi Gaun.

      Trekking Time-5-6 Hours

    6. Day 6 Trek to Tarke Gyang(2,590m)

      Upon leaving Melamchi  Gaun, the trekking trail  leads downhill to Melamchi River, then after crossing the bridge, you will be reaching Tarkeghyang village via Nakote village. You can visit old monasteries lying at Ama Yangrim, the top point of the Tarke Gyang village. Overnight at Tarke Gyang.

      Trekking Time-5-6 Hours

    7. Day 7 Explore Tarke Gyang

      Tarke Gyang is mid hill village with dense population of Yolmo tribes. You can explore and have insightful idea of culture, traditions, food and festivals of Yolmo tribes. Yolmo tribe are cross between Tamang and Sherpa clans. You can interact with locals and can enjoy local spirits and foods. Overnight at Tarke Gyang.

    8. Day 8 Trek to Sermathang

      After gathering some wonderful moment at Tarke Gyang, you will start the morning trek. The trekking trails leads to beautiful forest with best surrounding view of Helambu region. The trail passes through amazing Buddhist monument, chortens, and to the minute villages of Gangyul. The trail further takes you to rolling hills of Shermathang. Shermathang is another pleasant nice Yolmo village with old monastery, cool weather and amazing buddhist culture. Overnight at Sermathang village.

      Trekking Time-4-5 Hours

    9. Day 9 Trek to Melamchi Pool(1,100m)

      Today is the final day of your trekking. From Sermathang village, the trail moves downhill to flat land until reaching Guru Rinpoche Statue. The trail takes you futher downhill into pine forest to Kakani village. The trekking further continues to descend to Dubachaur. After reaching Dubachaur, you will be walking to Melamchi Khola. Crossing  the bridge and nice walk to Melamchi Pool ends this sweet trek. Melamchi Pool is a busy bazaar with warm hospitality and nice lodge to give you all that needed rest.

      Trekking Time-4-5 Hours

    10. Day 10 Drive back to Kathmandu

      Officially, today is the last day of whole trip. You will be driving for four hours from Melamchi Pool through the town of Dhulikhel and Banepa and then to Kathmandu. You will cherish each moment of the trekking period.
